| News of Thursday 30/4/09:
Today I received a most wonderful post card that was addressed to me from London South, post mark 29/04/09. This beautiful card has certain unknown antiquity with a picture of the Cedar Room in Warwick Castle in colour, format is of slightly oblong compare to modern cards, the stamp used is one of the old design definitive stamp of the Queen's head (whether it is an original one or a recent re-issue, I could not tell as I am not a philately expert though I have been in philately many years, it somehow looks old enough). However it was from an anonymous sender, without name or address. It said: 'Greetings! A card from the past!' My eyes was glowing into amazement and cheeriness that makes one so curious who is it from and how delightful is the sender to send such lovely card to me as I am one fascinated from the past. I am quite certain is that the sender is a fellow member of the Post-crossing. This anonymity will kill me with restlessness until it is found out. So please come forward for this beautiful crime. I shall return my sincere gratitude.

Yes Sir, I am afraid we have not seems to arrive Spring, although next week would be Easter. If I may add sir, I suppose this is weather that we were brought up and sudsequently we have form our formidable character that we are so well known for.
Oh, well ! You cannot have everything I suppose and we do have great strength in our nature.
Indeed, Sir. | | |

Bel-Air is a newly developed and newly fashioned residential estate located on the south eastern corner of Hong Kong Island. It is part of precinct that has a rather forward thinking name ~ Cyberport ~ which was and still continuously propose to be a most important Information technology centre in the Far East for the next many generation to come. Though the grand plan is initiate by the private sector but the land was leased (or given generously?) by the Hong Kong Special Administrated Region that still commonly known as Hong Kong (normally land is being auction to the private sector). The grand plan is also participate by the government. Cyberport contains numerous modern offices ('high-tech', may be more appropriate phrase these days if 'modern' does not justified it worthy enough), exhibition halls, and of course there will be no opportunity missed, a shopping arcade that appropriately named 'The Arcade' which has a rather unconventional promenade that guide the well dressed ladies and and gents through its cavernous volume. Various moving pictures could be projected in its cinemas too.
On the abode side of the affair it is called Bel-Air, named after a certain fashionable district in America, to be precise the city of Los Angeles. The rather fashionable community (it is the Bel-Air in America that myself have heard of but not to confuse with the one that yet to be complete in Hong Kong) was founded by Alphonzo E. Bell, Sr. in 1923 and is part of the "Golden Triangle" of Bel-Air, Beverly Hills and Holmby Hills. About 12 miles west of downtown, Bel-Air is known as an prestige residential community that includes some of the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains and borders the north side of UCLA (University College of Los Angeles)
I do appologise I got a bit carry away in the information regarding Bel-Air in Los Angeles. Let me resume this particular one that we have here. It contains about Two thousand apartments, no lacking the standard amenities such as club house. A most up-to-date club, too. It contains numerous swimming pools. There are about nine outdoor pools (one for fish) and four indoor pools, as well as Romanique spa for the likes of gentility. The grandeur does not stop here, where a parade of gymnasium for the aspiring athletes, banqueting rooms for the hostess, cigar rooms where splendid selection of whisky is served. One must not forget that since the enforcement of 'Anti-Smoking' law around the world, the gentlemen of this generation have to retreat to the club for a pipe and by providing such convenience shall be most welcome.
So much one could pursue in Bel-Air which I could not state them all here. However there is one thing I must express to the reader but it is too, the most interesting aspect is that the undulating facade of the archtecture and the artistic landscaping of the communal garden and pools is design by the great maestro of the day ~ Sir Norman Foster.
